Guide · PuppyMacro 1.23.0
Install and update
- Download PuppyMacro-win-Setup.exe and run it.
- If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, select More info, then Run anyway. Releases are code-signed, but Windows can still warn while the certificate is new.
- Setup installs PuppyMacro for your Windows user, without administrator rights, adds it to the Start menu and the desktop, and starts it. If the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime or the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (for the editors' Code view) is missing, Setup installs it.
Updates
PuppyMacro checks for a new version when it starts and every 12 hours. When one is available, a bar appears under the title bar of the window (“Version X.Y.Z available”) and a dot appears on Settings in the side rail. Select Update and restart: running loops and macros stop, the new version downloads and PuppyMacro restarts. Closing the bar (×) hides it until the next start; the dot stays until you update.
In Settings, the Updates card shows the installed version, Check now and, when an update is available, a What's new link and Update and restart. Check for updates automatically can be turned off.
Uninstall
Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > PuppyMacro > Uninstall. This also removes the Start with Windows entry.
